As members we have to complete a minimum entry qualification and are bound by its rules of conduct to offer you a fair deal, without overvaluing your home. Our membership also provides access to a complaints procedure and a solid understanding of the market. You should select an estate agent who is a member to ensure your peace of mind, as well as the highest level of integrity and service.
We are also a member of the Estate Agents Ombudsman Scheme (OEA), which is governed by the Office of Fair Trading. The OEA provides and independent service for dealing with disputes between member agencies and customers who are buying and selling residential property in the UK. We are governed by the Estate Agency Act of 1979. Its purpose is to ensure estate agents act in the best interests of clients and that both buyers and sellers are treated honestly, fairly and promptly.
We are also governed by the Properties Misdescriptions Act of 1991, which makes false or misleading statements a legal offence. |
